The target candidate for NABCEP certification is the person responsible for the system installation (e.g., contractor, foreman, supervisor, or journeyman). The NABCEP PV Installer Certification is not intended to prevent qualified individuals from installing PV systems nor to replace state licensure requirements. It is meant to provide a set of national standards by which PV installers with skills and experience can distinguish themselves. Certification will provide an educational tool for consumers and may encourage increased financing and reduced insurance rates for PV projects. It will be available voluntarily to those PV installers who feel they will benefit from it.

Solar (PV) &amp; the National Electric Code is a comprehensive course on the electrical requirements for photovoltaic system installations with and without battery systems.
Topics include the major sections of the National Electric Code (NEC) that relate to PV installations including General Requirements, Wiring and Protection, Wiring Methods and Equipment Use, PV Equipment Special Conditions, and Utility Interconnection Special Conditions.
Anyone involved with photovoltaics or seeking a career in photovoltaics will benefit from this course.
This course meets some NABCEP CEU requirements and is a study course for a NABCEP Photovoltaic System certification exam.

The NABCEP PV Design Specialist Certification is a voluntary certification that provides a set of national standards by which PV Design Specialist with skills and experience can distinguish themselves from their competition. Certification provides a measure of protection to the public by giving them a credential for judging the competency of practitioners. It is not intended to prevent qualified individuals from designing PV systems or to replace state license requirements.

Topics cover PV market analysis, the solar resource, electrical PV principles, solar module fundamentals, system components, types of systems, site assessment, system applications, energy production analysis, and best practice code compliant practices including mounting, wiring, and interconnecting systems to the utility.
Open to anyone interested in knowing more about the solar industry or anyone working in fields associated with solar energy will benefit from this course.&nbsp;
This course fulfills the eligibility requirements to take NABCEP&rsquo;s&nbsp;<a href="https://www.nabcep.org/certifications/associate-program/">Photovoltaic Associate Exam</a>. The exam is administered by CNMI's&nbsp;<a href="https://cnmingenuity.org/program/industry-testing/">Industry Testing Center</a>. Participants who wish to take the exam will receive more information from the instructor. The exam fee is not included in the price of the course.
